Blackwork Illustrative Tattoos with an edge
I’m KAYSEE SHUSTER, the founder and co-owner of Mad Jackal Tattoo Collective.
I absolutely love being a tattoo artist. I feel more like myself when I decorate my body, and I love helping other people express themselves in an authentic way, so they feel more comfortable in their own skin, too
I didn’t always know I wanted to be a tattoo artist. Actually, I went to college for biology, but a professor urged me to switch my major to fine arts because of the creative potential he saw in me. Instead, I decided to risk it all and drop out so I could pursue a career as a tattoo artist. And I’m so glad I did.
I’ve been drawing for as long as I could hold a pencil and have always loved expressing myself through art in all its forms, including music.
I believe that creative improvement is limitless, and this work lets me continue to grow as an artist, while helping my clients express themselves and feel good in their bodies. My background in biology is an added bonus, helping me identify and draw plants, animals, and human anatomy. Nature is the best!
If you’re vibing with blackwork illustrative tattoos that are a little witchy, a little punk, and a little cottage core, you’re in the right place!
My favorite tattoos to create are botanicals, animals, insects, and portraits inspired by my love of nature. I also love horror movies and playing video games, so you can bring me your spooky and nerdy inspiration, too!
Are you ready to book with me? Here’s what happens next!
I am an appointment only artist, which means that when my books open, I will have you fill out the inquiry form found on this website. An inquiry is a request for an appointment that helps us know if we’re a good fit for working together, but unfortunately not a guarantee.
If we are a good fit and our availabilities match, I’ll send you a confirmation email, a booking link, and deposit link to secure your spot.
Because I do large, custom pieces, I book half day and full day rates, rather than by the hour. Here’s what my rates look like:
Half day (4 hours or less): $800.00
Full day (4-6 hours): $1,200.00
Please note: Every appointment requires a deposit of $200.00 to be paid at the time of booking.
In the meantime, follow me on Instagram to stay updated on when my books are opening next.
You can also add yourself to a waitlist if my books are not open yet by filling out the inquiry form!
